Mental Awareness Week

Maria Espinosa, Editor-in-Chief

This week we celebrated Mental Awareness, our student council provided things to do every day. On Monday, there was a Mental Health video, Tuesday teachers got treats and were allowed to wear jeans, Wednesday there was pilates after school at 5:30, on Thursday there were free nachos and a movie night (watched Coraline), and lastly, on Friday we were given meditation tips.

On Tuesday, there were plenty of donuts and coffee being given to teachers by StuCo to show appreciation, they were also allowed to wear jeans which helped make them more comfortable. On Wednesday, pilates in the small gym was provided, this helped ease your brain and your energy, you were encouraged to bring your own mat. On Thursday at 7 pm, students were encouraged to stay to watch Coraline, students brought blankets and more food even though nachos were being provided. On the last day of Mental Awareness Week, a video was posted on the school’s Twitter account where it’s shown that the Administration and students were being asked plenty of questions about mental health.
