Ever since I was young I enjoyed art and being creative, whether it be drawing for fun or making posters for school, I would take on crafts. Recently, I started painting to relieve stress because it took my mind off of things. For almost a week, I would spend around five hours a day painting while listening to music because I found it very therapeutic. It was around late July when I had bought canvases, paint, and brushes to recreate a painting I had originally seen on Pinterest. Most of it was freehand because I had a reference but it was still really challenging to put the tiny details that weren’t there originally. When it was finally finished I was so proud of the first painting that I posted it on Snapchat and received many compliments. It now hangs on my wall as decor and it brings me peace.

Over Winter break I decided to create another painting based off of many other artworks that I found interesting. This painting was much harder because there were several themes, a lot more color, more details, and I had nothing that I could completely copy from. Although this was more challenging to paint, I had only spent two days creating it but took the entire two days to complete. Multicolored and hallucinogenic images had always caught my eye so I wanted to paint artwork that could be confusing yet colorful and pleasing. Once my second painting was done, I realized that my stress was gone and painting was definitely my escape.
