As the Halloween season comes to a close, many of us are so excited for Christmas that we forget a whole holiday in between. Thanksgiving! Today, November first, we start the celebration of Thanksgiving and we put a hold on Christmas.

Many people forget that Thanksgiving is a day we come together and stuff our faces. Imagine disregarding a whole holiday dedicated to pausing our diets and eating as much as you wanted. Not on my watch.

I mean, how could you forget the iconic food that the Thanksgiving holiday has blessed us with? I mean come on! Turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole and rolls will not be easily forgotten.

I am aware of the memes that go along with the fact that Thanksgiving is skipped over year after year. I was once one of those people who took for granted this delightful holiday but then I recalled how much I love food and being with my family.

Sure, Christmas you get gifts. But you also give gifts and that’s money out of your pocket. Wake up America!

If you think about it, Thanksgiving is just like Christmas but instead of a jolly fat man mascot you get a jolly ready-to-be-eaten turkey.

So, this holiday season, don’t forget the turkey.
