In The Making

Being the youngest and newest member on the yearbook editorial board, Sydney Song contributed to the book’s production at the Balfour Workshop at College Station this summer. There she attended several classes and electives that taught about the process of producing a yearbook.

“As a team, my staff and I successfully created a theme for the book that we could incorporate in our spreads and marketing techniques,” Song said. “It may be the hardest work we had to do for the yearbook, but it set us up for the whole year.”

She was able to meet with mentors, graphic designers, and teachers. She was taught about online programs, writing tips, marketing strategies, and more.

“This workshop should be a requirement to all staffs because it even taught first timers, like me, the ins and outs about the yearbook,” Song said. “There was definitely more to learn about the making of it than I thought.”
