Amy Escobar, Journalist, Journalist

Vanakkam! (That is Tamil for hello.) I'm so glad you stumbled upon this page to find out a little bit about me, a journalist of McAllen Memorial's newspaper, "The Round Up". My name is Amy Escobar, I am 17 years old and senior here at Memorial. I would say I'm a pretty relaxed person who just enjoys to live life. As relaxed as I may appear to be, my schedule may say otherwise. I am president of this schools FISH Connections club (an incredible Christian club), part of the very diligent and productive Student Council, very involved in the art community, and during the summers I like to travel the world and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ as I go on overseas mission trips. My passion in life is quite different than most teenagers, I love to pursuit The Lord and the calling he has placed on my life. Currently I am doing this through missions, but we'll just have to wait and see where He takes me from here.  This past summer I was given the blessing to go to India, and God willing, I hope to be going to Uganda next. Life is an adventure filled with blissful moments that can not only change your life but others' as well. The reality of it is you have to go out and find these moments and adventures since they may not always appear on your doorstep. This is my first year in being a part of The Round Up, and I can't wait to see this new season of journalism unfold. God bless!
