January 28, 1986, is a date that will be remembered in infamy. The Space Shuttle Challenger broke apart 73 seconds after blast off, killing all seven crew members. Five of the members were NASA astronauts, one payload specialist, and the other a public school teacher.

The following are the seven members that tragically lost their lives.

  • Dick Scobee
  • Micheal J. Smith
  • Ellison Onizuka
  • Judith Resnik
  • Ronald McNair
  • Gregory Jarvis
  • Christa McAuliffe
