On October 19, the band won first division in the pigskin competition. Their accomplishment has put them on the path to area this coming Saturday in Laredo, TX.

The band was conducted by Anyssa (12), Cassie (12) and Fran(12). They performed a cover of Runaway by Kanye West and Paparazzi by Lady Gaga.

“Every year before Pigskin, each section has a tradition of going out and having fun together to prepare for the very important day that we have been preparing for all summer and throughout the year,” Mae Camacho (11) said.

This is one of the ways they get some of the stress off and have some fun with their fellow bandmates.

“To me it doesn’t matter what we place, as long as we all tried our best and had fun, it’s a win to me,” Camacho said.

This competition is important because it reflects the hard work that these students put during practice since the summer and every day during and after school.

Let’s thank the band for all they have done and wish them much luck at area! Go Mustangs!
